It’s that time of year again! Spring! Which means time to book my next adventure!
This year, however, will be slightly different. The first 2 months I will be living and studying in Beijing and so my posts should give you a lot better insight into daily life in China! After the 2 months are up I will be travelling around China to places I missed last time and maybe even add a surprise trip to another country in Asia!
Takeoff 11th June 2014
Make sure you keep this date in your diary! That’s when my flight for Beijing leaves!
I will be living in Beijing. I have rented a room in an apartment that I will share with Chinese teachers and maybe some foreigners.
I will be doing an intense HSK Mandarin course which consists of 5 hours a day, 5 days a week.
The Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì (HSK), (Chinese: 汉语水平考试), translated as Chinese Proficiency Test, or Chinese Standard Exam, is China’s only standardized test of Standard Chinese language proficiency for non-native speakers such as foreign students, overseas Chinese, and members of ethnic minority groups in China.
The test is administered by Hanban, a non-government organization affiliated with the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.
The HSK exam is used by employers as a standard or level of proficiency in Mandarin.
I will hopefully complete HSK level 1 & 2.
After my 2 months of intensive studying I will go off on my own to find new experiences, meet new people and visit new places.
